The End of the World As We Know It, and I Feel Fine II

My wife bought me a pair of Crocs.

...sigh...

and Crocs are ...?

I'm well on my way to conquering the English speaking peoples

We may speak the same language but do we always understand one another?

Crocs are these goofy looking foam shoes that are easy to slip on and supposedly very comfortable. They are all the rage amongst those sectors of the population that care about such nonsense. They are decidedly unmanly but at least I have a dark brown pair. I only use them to slip on and off when going out to the garage or moving stuff about the back yard.

Oh, and we clearly do not understand one another or there would be need for war, we'd all imagine there were no countries, no possessions, no greed or hunger and the world would live as one.

I don't think that the ownership of a pair of Crocs would constitute any kind of excuse for me to go to war with you...

Unless of course, you felt compelled to retaliate when I smirked/tittered/snorted/grimaced/spluttered with mirth when I chanced upon you sporting said pair of Crocs in and around your garden.

Has mirth ever constituted a reason for war? John Lennon clearly hadn't identified that one!

I own a battered pair of black Crocs, also a gift...sort of. They were someone else's gift, but were too big for the intended feet, so they were passed along to me.

I belong to the sector of the population who think these rather ugly shoes are comfy. Not a fashion plate, myself, so ugly shoes are a perfect fit. (Uh, no pun intended.)
